The gifts, skills and talents that God has given each of us come in all different types and we promise we have a place where yours can shine!

Congregational Care

“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Romans 12:10…  Do you have a heart for people? Do you find yourself encouraging others through your words and actions? Do you feel compassion and mercy for those who are struggling? We invite you and encourage you to be part of the Congregational Care Team at the Journey Church. As part of the team, you would minister to the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of our congregation through phone calls, hospital visits, chatting with newcomers at Sunday services, etc. We will have several training sessions throughout the year, which will be posted on the Calendar.

If you are in need, please let us know. We would love to help.

Hospitality is a central ingredient in the life and health of the church. We host many events and gatherings as a church, which often means providing and setting up meals. We also have many opportunities as a church to provide meals to people who are in serious need. if you have a gifting or interest in helping out in this area, let us know by contacting Alene Rhinesmith at

Building and Grounds

This ministry is of great value and importance in the church. Beyond Sunday morning, our building is a place where a multitude of ministries and activities takes place and it is often open to the community around us. We need all the help we can get in maintaining, beautifying, and repairing things around our “home.”

Every few months we have work days where we invite everyone to come out and help with a variety of projects and cleaning. Work days will be posted on the calendar and usually take place on Saturdays from 9am to 3pm. People can come and go as they desire and lunch is always provided.

Beyond work days, we are actively looking for people who can offer more ongoing help in this area. To get involved, contact Alene Rhinesmith at

Usher Ministry

Ushers are overseers of the Sunday morning worship experience and are treasured and vital parts of our time together. This work involves facilitating the order and flow of service and helping prepare and set up the auditorium on Sunday morning.

Training is available to everyone who joins the Usher Team. To get involved, contact Alene Rhinesmith at

Greeter Ministry

Each greeter plays a significant part on a team who welcome all who enter the church on Sundays, especially first time visitors as our honored guests. This is a wonderful way to get connected and involved in a small but significant way.

Each of the following ministries have their own pages on this site where you can find further information on getting plugged in.

Other Ideas?

We love creativity and want to allow room for a personal expression that might not fit into the box of a predetermined, typical church “ministry.” If you have a passion or gifting that can be incorporated into the church that might not be listed here, please let us know!
